   FluxNova Capital — self-hosted webfonts

These blocks mirror, face for face, the latin and latin-ext blocks that
fonts.googleapis.com/css2 serves a current Chrome for Inter Tight 400-600
and JetBrains Mono 400-500 with display=swap. Latin was fetched on
   2026-09-11 (family=Inter+Tight:wght@400;500;600&family=JetBrains+Mono:
   wght@400;500). Latin-ext was fetched on 2026-09-27 (Inter+Tight:
wght@400..600 and JetBrains+Mono:wght@400..500, one family per request),
when the latin files were fetched again and were byte-identical to the
ones here. Same families, same styles, same `font-display: swap`, same
`unicode-range` per subset. Only the `src` changed, from
   fonts.gstatic.com to this draft folder.

WHY, because a future editor will be tempted to put the one-line Google
   <link> back:
     1. Third-party font CSS is render-blocking. The browser cannot paint
until fonts.googleapis.com answers, which costs two extra TLS
connections on every first visit anywhere in the world.
     2. fonts.googleapis.com and fonts.gstatic.com are unreachable from
mainland China. A visitor there saw a blank page until the request
timed out, and only then the fallback stacks.

Instrument Serif was REMOVED on 2026-09-22. It was the editorial display
face; display headings are now Inter Tight 600, so the family, its two
woff2 files, its preload and its licence notice are all gone rather than
left loading for nothing. Two families, four files: two preloaded latin
requests on every page, and the two latin-ext files only where needed.

Two subsets per family, latin and latin-ext. The latin range carries
English, Dutch, German, French, Spanish and Italian, plus €, –, —, the
curly quotes, ↑ and ↓. The latin-ext files were added on 2026-09-27 for the
   language pages, Polish above all (ą ć ę ł ń ś ź ż, U+0100-017F). They
are NOT preloaded: a browser fetches a subset only when the page uses a
character in its unicode-range, so the English page never downloads
them and the Polish page does. Each latin-ext block comes before its
latin block, in Google's order: the two ranges share U+0304, U+0308 and
U+0329, and for a shared character the face declared last is tried
first, so the small latin file keeps them.

Chinese is not served from here. Neither family has CJK glyphs, and a
CJK webfont is megabytes; the :lang(zh-Hans) block in styles.css puts the
visitor's own system CJK fonts after these two families instead, so no
third-party request is ever made for it.

Publishing in a language that needs greek, cyrillic or vietnamese means
re-fetching the Google CSS and adding that subset as a further block in
the same way. Never widen an existing block: the point of a subset is
   that it is small.

The variable files each carry a weight *range* in one block. Asked for a
list of weights (wght@400;500;600), Google's CSS declares one @font-face
per weight, all pointing at the same file; asked for a range
(wght@400..600, the 2026-09-27 request), it declares one block with the
range, as here. Both render identically. The files' own axes are wider
(Inter Tight wght 100–900, JetBrains Mono 400–800); the ranges below
limit them to the weights this site uses. `format('woff2')` and not
`format('woff2-variations')` — the latter is the obsolete spelling
   and Safari ignores it.

Licence: both families are SIL OFL 1.1. The notices and the licence
text travel with the files, in assets/fonts/LICENSE.txt.
